The plan is based on four strategic lines: tourism sustainability, digital strategy, relationship with the sector and market intelligence, and will affect local and medium-distance markets.

On 20 December, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board presented the results of its activity in the 2023 financial year and the 2024 Plan of Actions and Objectives (PAO) to 150 professionals from the tourism sector in the province of Girona. The plan is based on four strategic lines: tourism sustainability, digital strategy, relationship with the sector and market intelligence, and a wide range of marketing, promotion, commercialisation and communication actions will be developed to adapt to market trends and demand.

The 2024 PAO will affect local markets, such as Catalonia, Madrid, the Basque Country, Navarre, Valencia, the south of France and the Île de France, and also medium-distance markets, such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and, in the long distance, the United States. In 2024, it will also operate in the European medium-distance markets: the Nordic countries, Poland and Ireland.

Among the main activities scheduled for 2024 are the ‘Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees Week’ in Madrid (combined event that incorporates professional meetings, press conferences and after-work get together with agencies from various product clubs), presentations in French cities connected by high-speed train, a travelling event along the east coast of the United States, the promotion of family tourism options in the Benelux market, the organisation of an internal workshop to promote corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, the development of a new B2B website, and the deployment of the new digital marketing strategy, among others.

In the coming year, the destination will also host a series of important national and international events, such as Connections Luxury Europe, InVoyage, Meet Catalunya, Global MICE Forum, the Eurovelo Spain Assembly and the Catalunya Day Grand Tour.

The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board has a budget of 6.29 million euros to implement its 2024 Plan of Actions and Objectives.

During 2024, the Board will promote alliances and public and public-private cooperation with the aim of strengthening the tourism sector as an economic driver in the province of Girona.
