Thirty national and international tourism fairs, both general and product-specific, aimed at professionals and the end public, have showcased the Costa Brava and Girona Pyrenees destination’s tourism offering and have also provided a meeting point with intermediation channels and the media.
The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board has been present in nine countries, participating in twenty-two trade fairs for professionals—eighteen of which were product-focused—and in eight targeting the end consumer. The most important events attended included Fitur (Madrid), ITB (Berlin) and the World Travel Market (London).
This season, for the first time, we took part in six events: the United Soccer Coaches Convention in Chicago (USA); the Wein-und Gourmetfestival in Baden-Baden (Germany); the Salon Occy’gène in Toulouse and the Salon des Seniors in Paris (France); the Matka in Helsinki (Finland), and the North America Golf Tourism Convention in Alabama (USA). What’s more, attending themed fairs has made it possible to promote the range of products and services in the fields of nautical activities, gastronomy, wellness, golf, active and sports tourism, business travel and cruise tourism, among others.
Basically, participation in the tourism fairs has been carried out through the Catalonia promotional booth, together with the Catalan Tourist Board, and Turespaña. On four occasions, the promotion took place through its own promotional booth in coordination with destination co-exhibitors.
