On June 11, the Municipal Theatre in Lloret de Mar held the 20th edition of the G! Awards of Tourism in the regions of Girona, organized by the Costa Brava Girona Tourism Board, with the collaboration of the Lloret de Mar City Council and the support of CaixaBank, in a public event with over one hundred and fifty guests including officials, award winners and representatives from the tourism sector.
During the ceremony, eight awards were presented in two categories: honorary and special awards, and tourism communication awards. The recipients of the honorary awards were Camping Las Dunas; the tourism adviser Josep Capellà Hereu, posthumously; Hostal de La Gavina; and the Cerdanya Pyrenean Cuisine Association. The communication awards were given to travel journalists for publishing and publicising work in media such as the German magazine Brigitte, the T magazine of the New York Times, the newspapers Financial Times and Diari Ara, and the French travel and adventure blog accessible to everyone, Wheeled World.
The ceremony featured musical performances by the Black Music Big Band and e-STRINGS by GIO, as well as the screening of the commemorative video marking the twentieth anniversary of the G! Awards. The event concluded with a cocktail made from products bearing the Girona Excel·lent food and drink label for the attendees.
