As a result of the crisis caused by the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, which has brought social, economic and tourist activity to a standstill globally, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board has reformulated its online strategy so as to continue providing services for its users through a digital campaign based on images, memories and virtual tours and activities.

The official websites www.costabrava.org and www.pirineugirona.org have added a banner at the top of their home page with the messages #joemquedoacasa, #quedatacasa and #stayathome, and the agenda of programmed activities and events for the next few weeks has been modified due to the crisis. We have also produced an awareness-raising solidarity video, Costa Brava Girona goes on hold, for broadcast on digital channels. The messages, publications and contents disseminated basically through these channels and the social media accounts @CostaBravaPirineudeGirona and @VisitCostaBrava on Facebook, @CostaBrava and @VisitCostaBrava on Twitter and @costabravapirineu on Instagram flash suggestive, inspiring images and texts evoking the province of Girona’s beautiful scenery, heritage and tourist attractions for people to enjoy virtually from their homes. On 16th March, the photo posted on Instagram (@roumat) showing a view of the Garrotxa region as seen from a user’s balcony became the new campaign’s first publication. The Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board encourages activity on social media through participation and engagement with users in their homes, by inviting them to contribute contents in the form of photos, videos, evocative memories and messages to make users want to visit the destination again when things get back to normal. In addition, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board also encourages engagement in Story contests through a quiz on its @costabravapirineu Instagram profile, and, in particular it provides a platform to promote the activities that the tourist companies belonging to the entity’s product marketing clubs organise for their customers and followers, and free themed e-books about wine tourism, traditions, hiking and cookery recipes, available from our digital library https://ebooks.costabrava.org/. The tags #joemquedoacasa, #quedatacasa and #stayathome, along with #incostabrava, #inpyrenees and, alternatively #dreamnowplaylater and #dreamnowvisitlater, figure on all the publications on the different channels and social media accounts managed by the Tourist Board.

All the latest on the tourism profession on the Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees.
