2026 is already almost here. A new season opens up to teams, clubs and athletes from all over the world who are looking for much more than just a place to train: they are looking for an environment that allows them to perform, grow and prepare with confidence.

The Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees have once again established themselves as one of the most complete destinations in Europe for Training Camps. A region where the climate, the facilities, the gastronomy, the infrastructures and the high-level sporting events work together to offer optimal conditions for training all year round.

300 days of sunshine per year

One of the destination’s greatest assets is its mild and temperate climate. With nearly 300 days of sunshine a year, the destination allows for outdoor sports in all seasons. Even during the winter months, moderate temperatures and the absence of extreme cold make it possible to maintain the continuity of training sessions, while the Girona Pyrenees offer optimal conditions for winter sports, further expanding the possibilities for training and physical preparation. This climatic combination makes the territory a versatile and strategic environment for medium- and long-term sports planning.

High-performance facilities

The region also has an extensive network of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, equipped to cover the needs of a wide range of disciplines: swimming, cycling, triathlon, athletics, running, tennis and paddle tennis, golf, rowing and water sports or team sports, such as football or basketball, among others. In this way, athletes have training fields, pavilions, swimming pools, natural spaces and specific areas for functional training, which coexist with accommodation fully prepared for sports residences, with services adapted to both teams and individual athletes. Everything is designed to ensure efficient, safe and optimal training conditions for both professionals and devoted amateurs.

Mediterranean diet

Training well also means eating well. The destination offers cuisine based on the Mediterranean diet, with fresh and high qualitylocal produce ideal for recovery and sports performance. In addition, the territory has a renowned culinary tradition and restaurants of international prestige, which makes it possible to combine sporting demands with a first-class gastronomic experience.

Infrastructure and natural environment

Quiet secondary roads, highly valued by both professional and amateur cyclistsecowaysnatural paths and hiking trails make the destination a privileged setting for sports such as runningtrail runningcyclinggravel biking and functional training. The combination of orography, safety and diversity of terrain makes it possible to design very varied training sessions in an exceptional natural environment, between the sea and the mountains.

International sporting events

The Costa Brava and the Girona Pyrenees are also part of the international sports calendar thanks to the hosting of top-level events that attract athletes and teams from all over the world. Next year, the third stage of the Tour de France 2026, one of the most prestigious cycling events in the world, will pass through the Ripollès and La Cerdanya regions, integrating mountain roads and relevant sections of the region into the route of this international route. This competition, along with others such as La VueltaThe TrakaSea Otter Europe and RS21 World Championship, reinforces the positioning of the region as a reference place for training and competition, and demonstrates its organisational and hosting capacity.
